1ST PRIZE FOR ENGRAVING "IN PLATE".
The Cultural Association letr@demolde editorial is organising this competition to promote engraving in Aragon and to value artistic creation by means of manual printing techniques using plates or matrices made for this purpose.
BASIS
Participants:
- All artists from Aragon or resident in Aragon who wish to participate may do so.
- Each participant will submit a single original, unpublished, un-awarded print.
2. Subject, technique and measurements:
- The subject to which the prints must refer is free.
- All traditional and experimental printmaking techniques are accepted except screen printing and digital printmaking. Reference must be made to the techniques used as well as to the printing process. The workshop where the plate was made and the printing process was carried out may be indicated.
- Any support that allows printing from one or more dies may be used. The size of the support must be a maximum of 40 cm x 50 cm and a minimum of 30 cm x 40 cm.
3. Sending of the work:
- The print will be delivered packed and protected, in flat, rigid packaging slightly larger than the engraving for its correct protection, transport and handling.
- Framed works will not be accepted, nor will works sent with glass or similar.
- letr@demoldeeditorial cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during transport. Poorly protected or poorly documented works will not be accepted.
4. Submission (documentation / deadlines):
The presentation of the print will include:
4.1. Unsigned engraving, with title, pseudonym or slogan on the back, on a separate sheet of paper, a brief explanation of the techniques used, the printing process and the participant's e-mail address.
4.2. Sealed envelope in which the same title or slogan as on the back of the work must be written. On the inside:
- Author's personal details (name, postal and e-mail address, contact telephone number)
- Brief curriculum vitae
4.3. The date of reception of works will be from 10 to 19 June 2019, in the art workshop of Javier Rodríguez, Residencial Paraíso 6, local 72, 50008 Zaragoza, from 17:00 h to 21:00 h on Mondays, and from 10:00 h to 13:00 h and from 17:00 h to 21 :00 h, from Tuesday to Friday.
The author will receive a proof of delivery, either in person or online, which will serve as a receipt for the return of the work in the event of not being awarded a prize. Works submitted and not claimed will be destroyed on 15 November 2019.
5. Awards.
Category A: Authors aged 17 and over.
- A first prize of 500 euros.
- A second prize in art materials to the value of
250 euros.
Category B: Authors aged 6 to 16.
- A first prize of 200 euros in art materials.
- A second prize in art materials to the value of
100 euros.
6. Jury.
The jury will be made up of five members who are experts in artistic evaluation and who are highly qualified to select the best works.
7. Failure.
The jury's decision will be made public in the week following the reception of entries. It will be available on the blog eltallerdeconcharuesga.blogspot.com and on the website www.auladeartejavierodriguez.com.All participants will also be informed individually by e-mail and letter. The first prize in "modality A" may be declared void.
8. Exhibitions.
With the selected and awarded works, we will try to make a travelling exhibition in towns of the Aragonese Autonomous Region related to the world of Art and Engraving.
9. Partnership Fund.
The first prizes will become part of the Association's art collection. letr@demolde editorial.
10. Return of works.
The non-winning works can be recovered from 4 to 8 November 2019, in the art workshop of Javier Rodríguez, Residencial Paraíso 6, local 72, 50008 Zaragoza, from 17:00 h to 20:00 h, Monday to Friday.
