Three-dimensional analysis
ECTS 4
WEEKLY TEACHING HOURS 4
"We live in a three-dimensional world. What we see in front of us is not a smooth image, which is only long and wide, but an expanse with physical depth, the third dimension. Three-dimensional design seeks to establish visual harmony and order, or to generate purposeful visual excitement. Between two-dimensional and three-dimensional thinking there is a difference in attitude. A three-dimensional designer must be able to mentally visualise the whole form and mentally rotate it in every direction, as if he were holding it in his hands. He must not reduce his image to one or two perspectives, but must explore neatly the role of depth and the flow of space, the space of mass and the nature of different materials".
Wucius Wong Fundamentals of Two and Three Dimensional Design.
