The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zaragoza is hosting the opening of the Master's Degree in Sociology of Public and Social Policies, in the Assembly Hall, on Monday 5 October at 19.00 hours.

The teachers of the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón (ESDA), Cecilia Casas Romero y José Manuel Chávez Muñoz will give the inaugural talk, entitled "Design and social change".

Teaching in Social Design is one of the major commitments made by the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón (ESDA) in the last 4 years. Teaching in this area consists of interventions in which students and members of vulnerable groups or groups at risk of exclusion work side by side on real projects. In this way, students develop the ability to make a realistic and responsible design and become aware that the work they develop is not neutral, and that, because it manifests itself in the public space, it is political.

The conference will pay special attention to one of these experiences: "Designing with Hilvana". A multidisciplinary project of ESDA in collaboration with the NGO Ayuda en Acción, the CEIP Ramiro Solans and Joaquín Costa and the CADI, which applies sustainable design and social design methodologies to female social entrepreneurship to fight poverty and social exclusion.
