XVI Plastic Arts Contest Diputación De Ourense

The Diputación Provincial de Ourense, with the aim of promoting and supporting the new values in the different fields of the plastic arts, announces the XVI CONTEST OF PLASTIC ARTS DIPUTACIÓN DE OURENSEThe aim is to reward and disseminate the work of the youngest creators.

The competition will be governed by the following rules:

BASIS

1.- The call will be made for painting, sculpture, engraving and any other type of artistic expression (video, digital art, installations, etc).

2.- All artists between 18 and 35 years of age may participate.

3.- The theme will be free, admitting all kinds of aesthetic tendencies. Any type of technique and material may be used in the creation of the work.

4.- Each entrant may participate with a maximum of two works, even if they belong to different modalities.

5.- The works shall conform to the following characteristics:

Painting: Not more than 2 metres in any dimension.

Sculpture: It shall have a maximum height of 1.80 metres and a base not exceeding 1×1 metre.

Printmaking and other artistic expressions: Free measures

6.- The works may not have previously won prizes in any other artistic competition.

7.- The following prizes are established, without distinction of modality:

First prize - 3.000 € - First prize - 3.000 € - First prize - 3.000 € - First prize - 3.000 €

Second prize - 2.000 €.

Third prize - 1.000 €.

Two runners-up prizes of €500 each

The jury may award honorary runners-up prizes, if it deems it appropriate, in view of the quality of the works submitted. It may also declare any of the prizes void.

The works that receive any of the prizes with economic endowment will become part of the artistic funds of the Diputación Provincial de Ourense.

8.- The deadline for submission of works will be established from the announcement of this competition in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia (BOP) until 13 June 2021 (23:59 Spanish peninsular time). The works will be submitted in online format, through the following platform www.mundoarti.com

9.- Registration will be free of charge for the entrant, who must assume the costs of sending and returning the work/s in the event of being selected.

10.- The Provincial Council will hold an exhibition (in September) with a selection of the works presented and will produce the corresponding catalogue.

11.- The jury will be made up of a minimum of five members related to the world of the plastic arts who will be appointed by the presidency of the provincial institution.

12.- The owners of the non-winning works must remove them once the exhibition has finished, within a maximum period of one month. Once this period has elapsed, the organisers decline any responsibility for them.

13.- The artists authorise the Diputación to use the images of their works in any format and without time limit.

14.- Participation in this competition implies acceptance of these rules and the jury's verdict.
