A Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is a project in which a group of faculty and/or students carry out a short-term physical mobility abroad combined with a compulsory virtual component. The project should bring participants together online to work collectively and simultaneously on specific tasks that count towards the project outcomes. These projects add value to existing courses or trainings provided by the participating higher education institutions.
The BIP project must be developed and implemented by at least 3 higher education institutions from at least 3 Member States and third countries associated to the Programme. All higher education institutions must be accredited with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). A BIP must have a minimum of 15 Erasmus+ mobile participants, not including teaching or training staff involved in the implementation of the Programme. The duration of the face-to-face activities ranges from 5 to 30 days. The planning of the virtual component will be a prerequisite.
If a project offered to students is chosen, a teaching guide must be planned that includes at least 3 ECTS for its recognition.
The BIP has a financial endowment of €6,000. This amount is intended to cover the costs related to the preparation, design, development, implementation and monitoring of the project and execution of the virtual activities, as well as the general management and coordination.
Costs may include: production of documents or educational material, room or equipment rental, field trips, excursions, communication activities, translation and interpretation, preparatory visits and administrative tasks.
The project is due to be completed by June 2026.
The project with the highest score will be selected. The evaluation of the proposals will be carried out according to the following criteria:
(1) Objectives and description of the project (maximum 5 points).
- Description of the project (2 points).
Does the proposal provide a detailed and comprehensible description of the project, does it include the structure of the programme and the added value it brings to the participants, and is it a project aimed exclusively at teachers, students or both?
- Clarity and relevance of objectives (1.5 points).
Are the objectives clearly defined and do they align with the purposes of a BIP, such as combining virtual and face-to-face components and creating added value to existing programmes?
- Innovation and added value (1.5 points).
Does the proposal introduce innovative approaches or creative solutions that bring added value compared to existing programmes or courses? Are aspects of the programme clearly identified as novel?
(2) Methodology and results (maximum 5 points).
- Programme methodology (2 points).
Does the proposal describe innovative and effective methods for combining virtual and face-to-face sessions? Does the delivery of virtual and face-to-face sessions enable participants to collaborate effectively to achieve the outcomes?
- Expected results (3 points).
Does the proposal detail what the outcomes are and how they will impact on participants? Do the outcomes value a transfer to ESDA's own teaching, activities or projects?
