"Making-Of, the diversity that unites us", a photography exhibition by Atades and ESDA

The photographic exhibition is part of the ESDA and Atades collaboration agreement signed last October.

Zaragoza, 22 March 2017.On 22 March, the photographic exhibition "MakingOf, the diversity that unites us" was inaugurated. The exhibition shows a series of 7 photographs taken by people with intellectual disabilities from the Integra Aragón centre and the El Vergel centre of Atades with the collaboration of students from the ESDA school. Each photograph is the result of the work of a team formed by a user of Atades and three students of the graphic design course of ESDA. The exhibition can be visited until the 24th of March in the hall of ESDA from 9 am to 9 pm from Wednesday to Thursday and on Friday from 9 am to 3 pm.

The exhibition focuses on seven works that are proof that there is another way of creating, based on talent and reflecting the richness that comes from diversity. A photography workshop has been the perfect excuse to learn from the eyes of others and to raise awareness about the group of people with intellectual disabilities. Creating in a collaborative way, where the final result is not as important as the process itself. Hence, the title of the exhibition, Making-Of, reveals an interest in compiling and giving value to this set of moments. Snapshots that suggest, that make us read between the lines and that, despite their ephemeral nature, are preserved as an unforgettable experience. Large-format works with a lot of personality that are born from the photographic image and that have been later intervened with mixed techniques, thus reinforcing the union between both groups in a magical and singular way.

This exhibition is part of the collaboration agreement that ESDA and Atades signed last October, the aim of which is to carry out joint projects and actions that serve the teaching, research and dissemination of culture in the field of the arts, social sciences and education, as well as any activity that is directly or indirectly related to this objective.

The activity began with a talk with the participation of José Carlos Galán, director of Atades centres, Victoria Rebage, director of the El Vergel day centre and the Integra Aragón centre, and Rosa Serrano, coordinator of the Atades Art workshops. Afterwards, seven Atades users and 20 ESDA students took part in the photo session.  Ana Gil.
