WORKSHOP COrtonaOPen3d 2019

COrtonaOPen3d is a workshop on Computer Graphics and Smart City Design for Cultural Heritage. The workshop has been held for the past eight years in the exceptional town of Cortona (Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy), the 2019 edition will have as its project theme: SLOW MOBILITY AND DESIGN FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE at the MAEC diffuse museum (Museo Etrusco de la ciudad) and will take place between Thursday 1 August and the Friday 9 August 2019.

The workshop is composed of lectures; project workshop and tutorials.

Participants will follow an Open Source 3D software course. Blender (in Italian or English of your choice), which will last approximately 20 hours and will have a tutor available throughout the workshop. After the Blender course, the project workshop in which the students will develop an architectural or design project or an artistic installation inserted in the context of the city of Cortona.

Participants will use BLENDER to develop their project led by qualified teachers and tutors who are experts in the use of the software. The workshop is international, the languages spoken are Italian, English and Spanish.

The aim of the workshop is to LEARN TO PROJECT USING SOFTWARE IN A CONSCIOUS AND CREATIVE WAY.

4 CREDITS for the participation to the Workshop 4 credits are assigned to the students of the Politecnico di Milano and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and the Scuola Superiore di Design of Aragon..

The theme of the 2019 edition will focus on the rethinking of mobility systems and the dissemination and exhibition of cultural heritage within the city of Cortona and its territory.

After identifying needs and opportunities, participants will freely develop a design, art or architecture project which will then be illustrated by a series of presentations in front of two juries.

One of the juries will be composed of the workshop participants themselves, the other of university professors, members of the administration of the city of Cortona and artists. The two juries will evaluate the quality of the projects and their consistency with the objectives of the workshop.
