The Cortes de Aragón and the Regional Ministry of Education of the Government of Aragon have signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Schools of Art and Design of the Community, to illustrate the 40th Anniversary of the Parliament.
It is proposed that the Competition for Illustration of the seats of the Cortes of Aragon around the following
BASIS
1.- OBJECT OF THE COMPETITION
The year 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the Cortes de Aragón, an institution that represents all Aragonese people and which has had its headquarters in the Aljafería Palace since 1987. The Government of Aragon and the Cortes de Aragón wish this important anniversary to be the subject of an artistic creation, developed in the field of illustration, by the students of the Art Schools of Aragon and the Escuela Superior de Diseño de la Comunidad Autónoma Aragonesa, seeking through this original and creative work to enhance the identity of the date described, its publicity and dissemination.
In development of all of the above, this competition for artistic illustration projects is announced, works that must have a direct relationship with the Cortes de Aragón and, in particular, with the places that have been the seat of its activity at different times in history, which in addition to Zaragoza (where the permanent seat of the Cortes de Aragón is currently located) are: Alagón, Alcañiz, Almudévar, Barbastro, Binéfar, Borja, Calatayud, Cariñena, Caspe, Daroca, Ejea de los Caballeros, Fraga, Huesca, Jaca, Maella, Monzón, San Juan de la Peña, Tamarite, Tarazona, Teruel, Valderrobres and Zuera.
2.- PARTICIPANTS
Students from the Art Schools of Zaragoza, Teruel and Huesca, and from the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón can participate in this competition.
The works submitted must be original and unpublished, and participation in this competition implies the express declaration of authorship and originality of the work.
3.- PRESENTATION OF THE WORKS
Each author will present his/her illustration on paper or similar support, in DIN A-5 format, using a free technique, and must state on the back of the illustration his/her personal details, the educational centre to which he/she belongs and the place or locality where the work presented is centred.
In addition to the support described above, each author will present a USB flash drive with the PDF file of the work carried out.
4.- FORM OF PRESENTATION
In a sealed envelope, the outside of which must bear the following reference: For the illustration competition on the Cortes de Aragón.
The inside of the envelope must contain the entry in the support described above, together with the USB flash drive containing the file of the entry.
The following documentation shall also be included:
Author's personal details, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address where notifications can be made.
A copy of the author's National Identity Card must be attached.
5.- DEADLINE AND PLACE OF SUBMISSION
The deadline for submission of entries is 20 January 2023 at 14:00.
Entries must be submitted to the secretary's office of the school where each participating pupil is studying.
6.- JURY
After the submission of the entries, each school will make a selection of the best projects and this selection will be sent to the competition jury.
The final selection of the works, together with the awarding of the prizes, will be made by a jury, of which the following persons will form part:
The President of the Cortes de Aragón, who will act as President of the Jury.
The Head of the Management Service of the Aljafería Palace.
The Head of the Legal Regime of Educational Centres, Registration and Schooling Service.
A teacher from the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón.
One teacher from each of the Art Schools.
The Promotion and Dissemination Technician of the Management Service of the Aljafería Palace, who will act as Secretary of the Jury.
The jury will examine all the works submitted and will take into account originality, creativity, conceptual quality and the ability to transmit the significance of the 40th Anniversary of the Cortes de Aragón.
The jury's decision will be communicated to the authors of the winning works and will be made public on the website of the Cortes de Aragón (www.cortesaragon.es).
The jury shall be responsible for the interpretation of these rules and may declare any of the prizes void, provided that the reasons for its decision are justified.
7.- PRIZES
A prize of €600 will be awarded to the author of the best illustration. There will also be two runners-up prizes of €300 each.
The amount of each prize will be paid by bank transfer, and the author must first fill in the form called "Third Party Form". The amounts of the prizes will be subject to current tax legislation.
8.- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The authors of the winning works and of the selected works assign exclusively to the Cortes de Aragón, without any prior consideration, the rights of exploitation of the works, their use and utilisation, and the Cortes de Aragón may therefore proceed to reproduce or communicate them in any way it deems appropriate, without any profit motive in any case.
The Cortes de Aragón will publicise the names of the winning authors on its website, social networks and in the media.
The Cortes de Aragón may publish these winning works and a selection of the best projects in the format and with the characteristics it deems appropriate, identifying the identity of the authors at all times.
9.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Participation in this competition implies knowledge and acceptance of these rules, which may be interpreted or supplemented by the jury for the sole purpose of improving the development of this competition.
