DESIS at CUMULUS Budapest: BRIDGING NETWORKS

The theme of the DESIS event held during the CUMULUS Budapest 2024 Conference was: "The role of international networks in building bridges and promoting diversity".. The session discussed how design can create the conditions for spaces for diversity, including human rights, democracy and freedom, among others. All CUMULUS members were invited to join our event and participate in the discussion that aimed to shed light on the vital role of international networks in fostering diversity and building bridges through design. Organised by the DESIS network, this event aimed to explore how design can create inclusive spaces for diversity, human rights, democracy and freedom.

The event included: lectures by Teresa Franqueira, Ezio Manzini, Anne-Laure Fayard, Emilia Duarte and Cecilia Casas (ESDA DESIS Lab), who shared their views on diversity and inclusion in design. A special talk by Bori Fehér and Jonathan Ventura from the Social Design Network (SDN) offered valuable insights on how to drive change. Moderated by Miaosen Gong there was an interesting discussion session where attendees could share their views and ideas on fostering diversity in design.
