Project with different phases in which Héctor Gil, the company's head of research and development, was present at different times. At the beginning of the academic year, he presented the material and the company and launched the challenge for the 2nd year students of the Degree in Product Design, to design an alabaster lamp for its possible manufacture.

In February we visited the company's sawmill in La Puebla de Híjar. We took advantage of the trip to visit the Centro de Desarrollo Integral del Alabastro in Albalate del Arzobispo where we were welcomed by Santiago and then went to Olite to the ceramic workshop-laboratory of Malia Cerámica.

Last Thursday 22nd May we had the presence of Héctor Gil for the presentation of the models and prototypes made by the students and which, together with a video sent by Carlos, designer of United Alabastro at its headquarters in Sarral (Tarragona) served to determine the winner of the challenge, the student of 2nd B of DP Evelyn Vlad, whose prototype will be manufactured by the company in the near future.

In this project, professors Jesús Algas, Juan Carlos Salas and Francisco Javier Serón have coordinated the monitoring of the students' projects. The session was very interesting as Héctor presented certain elements that differentiate between training and professional projects and which students will have to take into consideration in the future.
