Jimena Alarcón, head of the Design Research Laboratory at the Universidad del Bío-Bío, visited ESDA on Monday 7th April. We had the honour of receiving her talk on the creation of bio-materials and kansei engineering, among other interesting topics. A real luxury.
As Scientific Director of the 2nd Ibero-American Forum on Design Research, she signed the recognition awarded at the forum last November,
to our paper on social design: 'Towards a Model of Social Design Education: From Introspection to Co-creation. A Proposal'.
Jimena came to learn about our programme in social design, because she is interested in a new approach to her work that has a more direct outlet for working with people and for social improvement, as well as for SMEs and entrepreneurs, where she has made great strides.
His comment on Linkedin reads:
"Social design at ESDA, Zaragoza. A space where human quality, warmth, social awareness, inclusion and accessibility are not only taught, but are part of a philosophy deeply connected to the territory and its community. I am impressed by the vision, commitment and scope of their work".
